Two extra bedrooms and a bathroom have given Johns family the additional space they were all craving.
The couple’s house in Prestwich, Bury already had a side extension but the family of five still needed extra room to grow, so planned for a hip to gable loft conversion to create the two additional bedrooms and much needed extra bathroom.
The family home had two different roof levels due to the existing extension, so the first job was to raise the pitch of the roof over the extension to level it off and at the same time, allow for a fixed staircase.
Making a Feature
John was set on making a feature at the top of the stairs, so we built shelves into the walls which he has made good use of to display ornaments. The feature makes for an intriguing and welcoming approach to the new living space.
To create a seamless exterior finish we sourced clay tiles and black fascia so nothing looked out of place outside.
In six weeks the family were enjoying their two new bedrooms and bathroom in their bespoke family friendly conversion.
